Regionalisation Objectives

Five objectives, implemented by six working groups, co-chaired by experienced Rotarians, developing action plans which will be shared as the project evolves.

Create new, attractive leadership opportunities by developing more effective leadership development programs and pathways that:

  • better engage and empower members;

  • create meaningful and doable roles;

  • maximise service effectiveness and governance at all levels;

  • foster broad consensus decision making processes that are through, transparent, objective and accountable, and

  • encourage greater diversity in our leadership.

Support clubs to engage members, volunteers and communities by gathering the best resources from across the Region to work directly with all Clubs to help them:

  • innovate, adapt & manage change;

  • enhance the membership experience provided to members;

  • embrace and reflect the diversity of their communities and so be more relevant to them;

  • adopt new membership options and engage with non-Rotarian volunteers and community members;

  • be flexible in how they operate; and

  • increase attractiveness and impact through cooperation and partnerships.

Build a stronger, unified Rotary brand by developing significant public awareness programs delivered through one Regional Rotary voice that:

  • substantially enhances the image of Rotary and Rotaract across New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific Islands;

  • helps attract greater financial and general support from the community, corporate and government sectors to enhance Rotary’s impact;

  • that is supplemented and supported by developing and maintaining an on-line portal for sharing promotional materials & showcasing examples of good Rotary activities and projects to engage a wide external audience.

Encourage partnerships by building on an enhanced public image and utilising the extensive regional resources to;

  • operate more collaboratively through meaningful partnerships with other Clubs to achieve greater engagement, participation, and attraction;

  • develop large scale Regional projects to attract greater sponsorship and involvement from Corporates, Government and Businesses; and

  • to look to partner with other entities outside of Rotary to enhance service delivery and outcomes.

Improve efficiencies and reduce duplication by developing a Regional structure which includes all Rotary entities and national programs, and:

  • streamlines and automates governance structures and processes;

  • makes volunteer jobs both meaningful and workable;

  • fosters diverse perspectives and transparency in decision making; and

  • utilising a variety of appropriate technologies;
