Who is working on the Pilot team?
Over 100 Rotarians and Rotaractors are working on the Zone 8 Regionalisation Pilot.
Below are the teams involved and the people who lead them.
Steering Group
This is the current decision making group leading the pilot. It is made up of representatives from the District Governor train, key project leads and Rotaract.

Regionalisation Establishment Teams (RETs)
There are nine teams working on different aspects of the pilot, known as Regionalisation Establishment Teams (RETs).
This group of teams is led by Tim Moore (VIC).
RET members were required to submit a detailed resume outlining their qualifications and experience, and were selected based on the relevance and merit of their existing skills and knowledge. Each RET has been allocated a Rotary International staff member as an observer.
Communication and Collaboration RET
This RET is exploring new ways to communicate with and facilitate communication between Rotary members throughout Zone 8.

Corporate and Admin RET
This RET is responsible for the development of corporate, administrative and legal entities to activate the pilot. Its functions include the establishment of the Regional Council and the creation of the Community Leader and Specialist roles.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion RET
This RET is responsible for exploring how the diverse needs of Rotary members throughout Zone 8 can be met through regionalisation. It includes representatives from the French-speaking community, regional Australia, the LGBTIQA+ community, and countries in the Pacific Islands.

Information Technology RET
This RET team is examining potential new IT platforms and processes that can be used to streamline essential activities such as reporting and mass sharing of information for internal and external purposes.

Learning and Development RET
This RET is developing new training strategies and member programs that address the unique challenges faced in our region, while streamlining learning and development opportunities.

Membership RET
This RET is developing strategies to enhance the membership experience for existing Rotarians and engage prospective members. It is also leading the development of new clubs and training of new club development specialists.

Pilot Communications RET
This RET is leading communications to Rotary members regarding the regionalisation pilot, including providing updates on the pilot’s progress.

Public Image and Partnerships RET
This RET is responsible for strengthening Rotary’s approach to public image in Zone 8. It is also exploring how stronger partnerships with external organisations can be formed through regionalisation.

Rotaract RET:
This RET is responsible for examining how Rotaract MDIO's and Rotaract clubs more generally can be supported throughout the Pilot. It will also explore how the Rotaract Nominee will work with existing Rotaract structures and what possible new opportunities will exist in the new governance model for Rotaract.

Rotary Foundation RET
This RET is responsible for understanding how the Rotary Foundation can adapt and leverage new opportunities created through the regionalisation pilot.

Service and Strategy RET
This RET is responsible for evaluating which district functions can be transferred to the Regional Council and how that transfer will happen. Districts will remain throughout the entire pilot.

Monitoring and Evaluation Team
An independent Monitoring and Evaluation Team is overseeing the work of the RETs to ensure adequate key performance indicators are created and met throughout the pilot. Members of this team come from New Zealand, Tonga, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, Tasmania and South Australia. The team also includes a Rotary International staff support member in Evanston.
