ROTARACT
Last updated: 30 August 2023
Rotaract clubs bring together people ages 18 and older to exchange ideas with leaders in the community, develop leadership and professional skills, and have fun through service.
Throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, Rotary and Rotaract members work side by side to take action through service. From big cities to rural villages, Rotaract is changing communities like yours.
We have over 1000 Rotaract members in our Zone. To support them, their clubs and Rotaract Australia and Rotaract Oceania - the Multi District Information Organisations (MDIOs) in Zone 8 - have supported the creation of the Rotaract Regionalisation Establishment Team (RET) to explore how Rotaract can work together with Rotary under this new governance structure.
Rotaractors will also be represented on the Regional Council by the Rotaract Nominee, a position elected by Rotaractors for Rotaractors. The Rotaract Nominee will be tasked with ensuring Rotaract perspectives are considered as new programs and initiatives are developed to increase the reach and success of Rotaract and Rotary across the Zone, and build connections between Rotary and Rotaract for mutual benefit.
The Rotaract RET is currently focused on:
● Encouraging eligible Rotaractors to apply for the position of Rotaract Nominee;
● Working collaboratively with the other RETs to ensure that Rotaract is included in their considerations; and
● Supporting and encouraging Rotaractors to be engaged participants of the Regionalisation Pilot.
Further information will be released in the coming months.
